Purpose

This test is intended to identify devices that require additional setup or configuration to connect to Celona networks on default domain and to document the device capabilities.

Test infrastructure

• Celona network w/ (1) AP

• Device under test

• TCP Dump or pcap file

• Wireshark tool

Test characteristics

This test does not involve parameters or variables other than those described in the General Test Details and Characteristics section.

Recorded data

In addition to the information described in the General Test Details and Characteristics section, the following information is captured:

• APN configuration (Required/ Not required)

• Time sync/ time zone (Correct/ Incorrect)

• Network name (Correct/ Incorrect)

• Time to attach (sec; if available)

• Carrier aggregation (supported/not supported)

• DL MIMO (supported/not supported)

• UL MIMO (supported/not supported)

• Handover (supported/not supported)

Procedure

1. Install Celona SIM, record type.

2. Enable airplane mode.

3. Disable airplane mode.

4. Verify the cellular network name.

5. Test Internet connectivity with ping -c 10 8.8.8.8 (or available equivalent).

6. If the Internet connectivity test fails, configure the default APN as colonnades.

7. Re-test Internet connectivity.

8. Disable airplane mode.

9. Start TCP dump or pcap file capture at eNodeB/gNodeB

10. Enable airplane mode.

11. Collect the trace file for further device capability analysis.
