Key differentiating factors of Celona’s integrated solution is -
Mapping Enterprise's existing networking and security policy infrastructure to private 4G and 5G devices
Deliver service level agreements (SLAs) per application per group of devices via MicroSlicing
One of the prerequisites for taking advantage of the above-mentioned features is categorizing your devices into device groups.
Configuring a Device Group
Navigate to the Device Group or Devices page via the side-nav menu.
(You will find that all the devices are initially placed in the ‘default’ device group. You can move them out to a new device group but cannot delete the ‘default’ device group)
Click on Create New to configure a new device group
Enter a name for the device group and select the devices that should be part of the new device group
Define the Network Control Policy(s) for the Device Group. This includes
Selecting Edge cluster and associated IP domain policy
If applicable, set up the
Advanced Network Configuration
feature to support critical use-cases seen in Industrial environmentsSupernetting - Enabling intelligent 5G LAN routing for devices behind cellular gateways/routers
IP Multicasting - Pushing multicast traffic to cellular devices
Note - If no policy is defined for the Device group, the Device group will use default policy, i.e Internal IP domain with default IP address range
You can now add multiple network control policies to the Device group to support multi site, multi Edge cluster roaming
Multi site, multi Edge cluster roaming
With Orchestrator version 2311 and later, devices can be simultaneously activated and used on multiple Edge clusters. The device admission control on one or more Edge clusters is automatically determined by the network control policy of the device group to which the device belongs.
To add multiple network control policy to the device group, click on
ADD ANOTHER POLICY
at the bottom of the pageThis can be done during device group creation workflow OR
Editing an existing device group by navigating to the device group table and clicking on the 3-dot menu for the intended device group
This will add a new card to define another policy. For the new network control policy
Select Edge cluster and associated IP domain policy
If applicable, set up the
Advanced Network Configuration
feature to support critical use-cases seen in Industrial environmentsSupernetting - Enabling intelligent 5G LAN routing for devices behind cellular gateways/routers
IP Multicasting - Pushing multicast traffic to cellular devices
You can add as many policies as necessary to the device group
For devices in the
default
device group, activation will occur across all active Edge clusters
Moving Devices between Device Groups
Navigate to the Devices page via the side-nav menu
From the 3-dot menu for the intended device, click on Edit Device Group
Choose the target device group you wish to move the device to, and click on Update to save the operation
